Sulsi simply means “stitch” in Tagalog. We wanted to create a name that is Filipino by nature and has something to do with sewing, so we wracked our brains and though of every possible Tagalog sewing terms our minds can think of. One of our business associates finally came up with Sulsi Manila, which all of us agreed to use from then on.
We were thinking of something that rolls off the tongue. Contenders were hilbana, tahi, burda and others, but it did not have the kind of snap “sulsi” has. And as Manilenos, we want to claim back the pride of Manila through quality-designed and made garments.
We wanted to be inclusive when it comes to size and figure, that’s why our sizes range from small to extra-large (as of 2019). The dream for us to is to be entirely inclusive, so we are continuously developing our garments to meet that need. Also, we limit the number of garments to 3 pieces per size per style.
We do accept made to order pieces for weddings, special events, and uniforms. You can ask for the price of our services by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
